Germany - Monday and Tuesday

Well, John and I had made it past traveling, and staying awake for most of our first day in Germany, but on Monday is when we got to see some sights in Heidelberg.  We visited the castle, twice, and got to go around and see a lot of the town sites.  We went up to the castle in the morning/noon, and viewed the outside of the castle, stopped and then had a picnic on the banks of the Necker river, and then went back before dinner to view the inside of the castle.  What's cool is if you go after 5:30 to the castle you can still go view the inside, but you don't have to pay to get in.

For dinner we went to a German beer hall, and had some traditional german food.  Pretty much everything on my plate had liver in it, and this might include that potatoes that came with the dish too.  Afterwards we thought it would be a good idea to not stop the night and hit a local college bar.  It was extermly crowded, and I had way too much beer and schnapps.

So for Tuesday, I was pretty out of it all day.  Sad, but at least it was raining, and we really didn't miss too much.    If it helps, our German drinking buddy, Oliver, was also the worse for the wear during the day too.
