Friday Night to Saturday - Travel to Naples

The overnight sleeper train was a good way to travel, if only we didn't have to stop at 4am and get off in Bologna.  Our train took off at 9pm from Munich, and had a couple stops along the way, ultimatly ending in Rome.  Our stop was at Bologna at 4am, and then our train to Naples came in at 6:15 am.  The funny part is our Naples train stoped in Rome before heading to Naples.  Why we couldn't have stayed on our overnight train till Rome, I don't know, but that is how the trains worked out when we ordered online.  I still feel a bit screwed over, because we could have gotten a full night's sleep instead of the half night we got.

Sleeping on a train is hard.  Even though we did have beds, the train stops quite a bit, plus the running of the train is kinda loud.  I think I did get some sleep, but I was pretty paranoid about somehow sleeping through our stop, but they have an automatic alarm that wakes you up.  Getting off in Bologna, they gave us a little breakfast, but it is kinda hard to eat at 4am.  Waiting for the train to Naples took forever, but it really wasn't bad, but John and I were pretty paranoid about thieves and might have psyched ourselves out a bit.

The train to Naples seemed to be a fairly normal communtor type train, and took about another 4 hours to get us to naples.  At the main Naples train station, we had read that a gypsys and pickpockets were common, so we had the idea that we would probably be swarmed when we got of, but it really wasn't bad.  I didn't see a single gypsy at the train station, and the taxis were actually quite easy to find, and were polite.  We were too tired to try our hands at public transportation and just decided to get a taxi to the hotel since it was just supposed to run 10 Euro.
Me in our sleeper cabin with our picnic we picked up in Munich.  Setting up the table was a pretty interesting process.
